Millennium Park goers will have a new post-visit treat option right next door this summer!
The Original Rainbow Cone is opening a new Chicago location along Michigan Avenue, according to a report from Block Club Chicago. The new storefront at 163 N. Michigan Ave. is located just steps from the Bean and other downtown attractions.
The beloved South Side ice cream shop has been delighting Chicagoans for nearly 100 years with its signature cone — slices (not scoops) of five flavors: Chocolate, Strawberry, Palmer House (vanilla with cherries), Pistachio, and Orange Sherbet.
The new location joins a number of sweet treat chains that occupy the same block of Michigan Ave., including the Nutella Cafe and Stan’s Donuts.
While an exact opening date has not been announced, The Original Rainbow Cone confirmed to Block Club that the new shop will open in June.
