Now’s your last chance to visit this one-of-a-kind grocery-themed pop-up shop in Chicago’s West Town neighborhood, featuring custom goods from 20 local artists!
Gift shop meets art installation
Picnic Date Bodega (1821 West Chicago Ave) is part gift shop, part art installation, offering one-of-a-kind treasures you won’t find anywhere else. The pop-up is the brainchild of local artist and entrepreneur, Akaelah, owner of Picnic Date Studio.
Guests can shop handmade jewelry, home decor, art prints, and more, all inspired by a kitschy grocery theme.
Shop while you can
Picnic Date Bodega is a part of the West Town Chamber of Commerce’s Pop Up Project initiative, an ongoing program offering short term leases to small businesses in Chicago.
The initiative aims to help local artists and entrepreneurs expand their customer bases through a traditional storefront business model.
The pop-up shop will be open through July 20, with the final round of restocks happening this month. Pretty soon, the shop’s inventory will be fully picked through, so be sure to stop by while you still can!
