Pickleball in Chicago seems to be the hottest new sport. While April is still at least a month away, we’ve garnered a list of the best places to play pickleball indoors. However, when the sweltering heat takes hold of Chicago again, we will update this list with the best Chicago parks with pickleball courts.
1. Grant Park
First on our list is a place you have probably visited many times. Thanks to a huge $500,000 grant from Lollapalooza organizers C3 presents, City officials and Grant Park Advisory Council members unveiled 16 new pickleball courts. Located in southern Grant Park, along with six refurbished tennis courts revamped after years of usage for festival parking.
However, the new Chicago pickleball courts come as part of Park District’s incentive to make pickleball available all over the city, with more than 50 new planned public courts pushing towards a goal of 200 public pickleball courts in Chicago.

2. Social Pickleball Fun
The second on our list is now one of Chicago’s hottest spots to play pickleball. Four friends from Lincoln Park set up Social Pickleball Fun and now offer a 40,000-square-foot facility with an indoor turf field, a restaurant, a coffee shop, nine indoor pickleball courts, and luxurious locker rooms complete with saunas and showers.

3. Jackson Park Fieldhouse
After you visit the Garden of Phoenix, head to one of Chicago’s best indoor pickleball courts, taking up more than 551 acres on the city’s South Side. Near Jackson Park is their Jackson Park Fieldhouse, which is used for indoors, like basketball, tennis, and pickleball in Chicago. The Jackson Park Fieldhouse has two indoor courts garnished with permanent lines and portable nets for both tennis and pickleball.

4. Lakeshore Sport and Fitness
For those looking for a community to participate in social, instructional, and competitive sporting activities, Lakeshore Sport & Fitness has one of the best pickleball courts in Chicago. Located in Lincoln Park, they offer 185,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor sports and fitness space, with extensive programming.
The facilities include eight indoor tennis courts, three outdoor rooftop tennis courts, two outdoor paddle courts, basketball courts, and, of course, they also have pickleball courts.

5. Lifetime
Last on our list is a brand-new space in Chicago. Lifetime is a world-class fitness center, and you will have an exceptional experience. The sprawling 126,000-square-foot athletic country club is a luxurious space. Lifetime offers expansive workout floors with cutting-edge equipment, indoor and outdoor pools, basketball courts, and racquet sports. While Lifetime doesn’t have dedicated pickleball courts, they concert the basketball court multiple times a week for those who want to play pickleball.
Along with pickleball in Chicago, it has multiple studios, including a hot yoga studio, pilates studio, and cycle studio. The locker rooms transform into four-star hotel amenities with a sauna, steam room, cold plunge pool, and whirlpool.
