From sonic booms to swoops and spins, here are the very best photos of Chicago’s Air & Water Show.
Chicago’s beloved annual Air & Water Show last weekend with two ‘reimagined’ one-hour lakefront shows. Having been canceled completely last summer due to COVID-19 measures, this year’s scaled-back version featured a solo performance from the U.S. Navy Blue Angels on both Saturday and Sunday.
As ever, Chicago’s array of talented photographers were out in full force to capture the event. Some rushed to the viewing locations between Oak Street and Fullerton Avenue, some up to the city’s artificial peaks to capture the event from above, and others took to Lake Michigan to snap the Blue Angels flying amongst Chicago’s formidable skyline.
Scroll through these astounding photos of the Blue Angels twisting, turning, darting, and weaving across the Chicago skies.
