PAWS Chicago needs your help—the local animal shelter recently welcomed 31 pets displaced from shelters by the Texas floods earlier this month.
PAWS announced the arrivals in a post shared on Facebook on July 12. “This week, we will be welcoming pets from the flood impacted areas of Texas,” read the post.
“Pets who were in the shelters before storms hit, so that the overwhelmed local shelters can focus on helping those displaced by the storms.”
How to help

With the sharp influx of new pups, PAWS is in desperate need of foster homes for its new arrivals and long term residents.
“Fostering saves lives, and right now, we need you!” wrote the shelter on Facebook. Those interested in taking in a pup can apply to become a foster right now directly through PAWS.
Don’t have the room to foster right now? You can still help by donating to the PAWS Disaster Relief Fund. Proceeds will fund necessary medical care for the pups.
