If you haven’t been to the new, expanded Paper & Pencil’s storefront in Andersonville, you’re missing out. Owners Tyler and Eric recently relocated their popular stationery shop to a larger retail space to accommodate growing inventory and customer demand, following a ribbon-cutting ceremony that drew crowds of local residents.
The pair originally operated out of a tiny shop on West Berwyn—while they never initially planned to open a larger store, the limited square footage restricted their ability to stock items frequently requested by shoppers.

With the larger footprint at 5208 N. Clark St., the store has significantly expanded its selection. Shoppers can now find a broader range of luxury notebooks from Germany in additional colors and paper styles. The shelves are also stocked with an increased variety of fountain pens, fine-writing ballpoint pens, and bottled inks, alongside new products from independent brands and artists.
The original West Berwyn location is not closing. Instead, it is scheduled to reopen this summer as the Paper & Pencil Creative Studio. The owners plan to use the space to host community gatherings where customers can experiment with the various pens, inks, and tools sold at the main retail shop.
The new Clark Street location is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
