Northwestern University has unveiled new renderings for the Ryan Field overhaul, detailing the ambitious upgrades planned for the Evanston sports complex.
Touted by Ryan Sports as the “largest college stadium project ever,” the $850 million renovation will transform the 35,000-seat venue into a state-of-the-art facility, with an expected completion date in 2026, according to the Chicago Tribune.
The refurbished stadium will be outfitted with advanced soundproofing technology, upgraded lighting, and enhanced local concession options.
The stadium will serve as home to the Northwestern Wildcats football team, while also hosting concerts and other large-scale community events.
Beyond game day, Northwestern envisions the expanded complex as a community hub.
The renderings showcase potential community uses like movie nights, a Christmas market, and seasonal events, offering year-round activities for Evanston residents and visitors.
