we’ve done our waiting, 7 years of it, but the hotel is finally here and we can now grab drinks at its totally awesome rooftop!
The long-awaited Nobu Hotel, co-owned by actor Rober De Niro, chef Nobu Matsuhisa, and film producer Meir Teper, has finally opened in the West Loop and we couldn’t be more excited! The hotel opened under strict social distancing rules on Wednesday, July 1, with the debut of its gorgeous Rooftop Bar.
At the Rooftop Bar, situated on the hotel’s 11th floor, you’ll be able to enjoy Nobu’s take on Japanese-Peruvian fusion cuisine from a wide variety of dishes such as nori tacos ($15/pc) with caviar and avocado, rock shrimp tempura ($28) and wagyu dumplings ($26) with smoked jalapeño miso. For those interested, sushi is also available.
If drinks are what you’re after, the bar also has plenty of refreshing cocktails on offer, including some of their signature drinks like Nobu Side Car ($18) with Iwai “Tradition” Blended Japanese Whisky, Yuzu & Torres Magdala, the Matsuhisa Martini ($16) with Beluga Noble Vodka, Hokusetsu Junmai Sake, Ginger & Japanese Cucumber and the Chi-Town Cooler ($16) with El Dorado 3 Year Rum, Plantation Pineapple Rum, Campari, Demerara Sugar, Pineapple & Yuzu. The Rooftop Bar will also feature nightly live DJ performances and concerts all throughout the summer.
We highly recommend booking your spot ahead of time since space is likely to be restricted in order to comply with social distancing rules. Make your reservations by visiting Nobu Chicago’s website here!
Unfortunately for Nobu fans, the hotel’s much-anticipated main restaurant will remain closed for the time being. But in the meantime why not take in some gorgeous views of Chicago while sipping on top-notch cocktails at Chicago’s newest rooftop bar?
