Residents of Chicago’s Northwest neighborhoods have a reason to be excited—a new Trader Joe’s is coming to Logan Square!
Here’s everything we know so far.
Trader Joe’s to open at long-vacant Logan Square lot

A Trader Joe’s is slated to open at 2053 N. Milwaukee, the site of a former CVS location which has sat vacant since 2017, Ald. Daniel La Spata (1st) confirmed in a video shared to Facebook Tuesday.
Renderings from local realtor Axis Realty show the new location will cover a 13,500 square-foot space, with adjacent an adjacent 10,536 square-feet of space for two additional tenants.
The project comes as a welcome development for the Northwest side, which currently has no other Trader Joe’s locations and less grocery options compared to Chicago’s Northeast neighborhoods.
“This is not a test. This is not a drill,” said La Spata. “We’re very excited for it. Long time coming.”
An exact timeline for the opening is unclear, but a Trader Joe’s spokesperson told Block Club Chicago the store could open sometime in the next few years.
