Typically, Valentine’s Day is all about celebrating love and heading to your favorite restaurants. At times, it’s okay to look back on those ex-relationships through a funny lens. While there are many fun ways to celebrate your partner this year, Brookfield Zoo is about reminiscing about those spurned lovers.
With a simple donation, you can once again name a cockroach after your ex! The beloved and petty tradition is back this year at Brookfield Zoo. All it takes is a $15 donation to name a Madagascar hissing cockroach after your ex (or maybe just a foe).
You’ll receive a Certificate of Naming in your donation receipt that you can fill out and share or hang on your wall as a reminder that a cockroach now bears that name. You’ll still receive placement on the Cockroach Naming Board posted outside the Hamill Family Play Zoo. They will only be publishing the first name of the individual/s you list. The board will be unveiled on February 14, and they’ll be sure to post pics on social media so you can find your names on the board.
If you’re looking to name a cockroach, fill out the form on Brookfield Zoo’s website and select if the cockroach is for an ex, friend, or lover, then type the name into the notes section.
