So far this winter, Chicago has dodged one of its famous major snowstorms—but that could all change this week!
Multiple rounds of snow are expected to hit the Windy City in the coming days, accompanied by sub-freezing temperatures and powerful winds.
The first significant snowfall could arrive Wednesday, with the National Weather Service predicting periods of heavy snow throughout the day and into the evening.
The weather service predicts snow accumulation of 3 to 7 inches during the day Wednesday, with further accumulation possible into the evening.
Wednesday’s high will top out at 29 degrees. The cold will intensify on Thursday, bringing a frigid high of just 19 degrees.
By Saturday, snow returns, with precipitation expected from the early morning through the evening.
Could Chicago be in for Snowmageddon part two? We’ll just have to wait and see!
