The free, all-ages event will feature live musical performances, film screenings, interactive art activities, meditation, and other community building activities.

Americorps MLK Day of Service

Join Chicago Americorps staff on Monday, January 19 for a day of service in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. at Morgan Park High School.
Participants will engage in various community service activities at the school including campus beautification, mural painting, and other projects.

Black Creativity Family Day at Griffin Museum of Science and Industry

The Griffin Museum of Science and Industry’s annual Black Creativity Family Day pays tribute to African American contributions to science, art, and technology.
Guests will explore exhibits including Black Creativity – Juried Art Exhibition and Crafting Character – The Costumes of Paul Tazewell.
Additional engagements include art making and other hands-on activities.
