A low-cost, Japanese-inspired variety store chain, made its grand debut in Chicago this past week. The first location to open in the Windy City, Miniso, sells a variety of fun novelty items, and so much more.
The chain store is only “Japanese-inspired” as it’s actually based in China. Nevertheless, there’s a whole range of cute home decor, stuffed animals, beauty products, snacks, and more. With more than 4,000 locations worldwide, the company has been known to collab with big brands like Hello Kitty, Marvel, and Coca-Cola, and features everything from a cute mini lamp in the home decor section, to a Spider-Man-inspired plushie. PS: 95% of Miniso’s inventory retails for $10 and under.
There are also adorable pastel noodle bowls, a full range of table-wear, and a tiny portable speaker for sale. While eclectic in its range of products, the store stocks all the Japanese-inspired items you’ll need. The Chicago Miniso store, which is franchised by David Choi, owner of popular Korean-Mexican fusion restaurant, Seoul Taco, is open for business from 10 AM to 9 PM. With plans to open 18 more stores across the U.S, this brand new Chicago location is just the start.
