Tired of cleaning glitter-slime from the rug or “perfume potions” from the sink? There’s a better way to fuel that “but why?” curiosity: Mini Genius Lab in Chicago. This isn’t your average lesson; it’s an interactive science workshop where your mini-Einsteins and Curies trade screen time for bubbling beakers and hands-on experiments. It’s a safe, controlled space for kids to get messy and parents to get stuck in too, helping to measure, mix, and marvel together.

What is Mini Genius Lab?
Think of it as an adventure where the line between classroom and playground completely disappears. Led by a “mad scientist”, your kids won’t just be watching; they’ll be center-stage in a series of immersive experiment stations. From the tactile joy of slime making, which they get to take home, to other experiments, which might include dry ice bubbles, or balloon static. It’s designed to bake serious science into pure, unadulterated fun and don’t forget to have your camera at the ready to snap some photos!
What age is Mini-Genius Lab good for?
This experience is perfectly tailored for mini-scientists aged 6 and up, though younger explorers are more than welcome to join the fun with a little extra “lab assistant” (AKA you). Babies aged 0–2 get in free and they’re sure to enjoy the energy and wonder too. It’s a punchy 45–60 minute session to capture that curiosity and hold it so that the little ones can learn. Plus, there’s no post-play scrub-down but do be sure to come dressed in casual or old clothes you don’t mind getting a bit messy.
