You don’t have to be part of the Artemis II crew to see the moon up close. A famed, life-like replica of Earth’s natural satellite is touching down in the Midwest this summer!
Here’s all the details.
Museum of the Moon comes to the Midwest

The Third Ward Moon Festival is coming to Milwaukee’s historic Third Ward from August 7–9, in honor of the neighborhood’s 50th anniversary.
The festival will feature a special exhibition of Museum of the Moon, by British artist Luke Jerram.
Museum of the Moon is a 7-meter wide model of our moon, created using internal lighting and detailed imagery from NASA.
The spellbinding installation has been shown in more than 40 countries around the globe and drawn record-breaking crowds.
The Third Ward Moon Festival will mark the first time the massive installation has been displayed in Milwaukee since 2019.

The three-day event will also feature live music, performances, interactive art experiences, cultural activations, and wellness activities.
And here’s the best part—it’s all free and open to the public!
Just a two hour drive or short train ride away, Moon Festival is the perfect day trip from the Windy City this summer.
