Don’t write off summer just yet!
Miko’s Italian Ice is opening up shop this Friday, April 24, in Logan Square and Irving Park. Order online and pop by for curbside pickup to treat yourself to some of the coolest treats on the block!
The dessert shop has been slinging their real-fruit, dairy-free Italian ice in Chicago seasonally since 1997. Normally, Miko’s sets up shop earlier in the spring, where it serves refreshing frozen treats until mid October. But due to the complications surrounding the pandemic, it was forced to postpone their opening until now.
With their online ordering already running, Miko’s will re-open up their locations at Logan Square and Irving Park at 1 p.m. on Friday. Their menu will kick off with half-a-dozen flavors, with later plans to roll out a rotating 12-flavor lineup once things balance out.
On Friday, you’ll also be able to try their latest treat: Italian Ice-icle Bars. These popsicles will come in three fruity flavors: mango, strawberry, and lemon. If you really mean business, you can also get their flavors by the quart!
When ordering online, customers can choose their pick-up time and will receive a text once their order is ready. With all the surrounding craziness, Miko’s has emphasized the importance of abiding by some added safety measures when picking up:
“Due to COVID-19, we are doing things differently this spring. Help us to remain open: Please do not arrive prior to your pick-up time when ordering online. Practice social distancing & maintain 6 feet from others while waiting for your order. We are currently accepting orders. For the safety of the community and our staff, pick-up times may become unavailable to limit customer traffic.”
As mentioned, Miko’s is currently accepting online orders. Follow their Facebook and Instagram for flavor updates!
