Who said anything bad about Monday?
Well, now no one really knows what day it is, that’s less of a problem. But you’ll definitely need to jot this down in your diaries.
Michelle Obama has gracefully put herself forward as the world’s teacher while our children are stuck at home. The former first lady and author will read to the little ones live on Facebook and YouTube every Monday.
I’m thrilled to share some of my favorite children’s books and give kids an opportunity to practice their reading (while giving families a much-needed break!).
Join me, @PBSKIDS, and @penguinrandom for read-alongs on Mondays at 12pm ET on @PBSKIDS Facebook and YouTube! https://t.co/839isAWKSt

Using Twitter, Michelle Obama announced she would partner with PBS Publishing and Penguin Random House to create “Mondays with Michelle Obama”. The first in the series aired on Monday (April 20) with a live reading of kid’s favourite, “The Gruffalo”.
Parents who have had to fill in the gaps as teaching assistants can breathe a sigh of relief at this. Now, children will have the chance to enjoy an educational and fun lesson while learning about Michelle Obama’s love of reading. And, don’t worry if you miss it live. A full video of the stream will remain on both channels.
“As a little kid, I loved to read aloud,” said Michelle Obama in a press release. “And when I became a parent, I found such joy in sharing the magic of storytelling with my own children — and then later, as First Lady, with kids everywhere.”
She will go live each Monday at 11:00 am (CDT) each Monday until May 11.
You can stream “Mondays with Michelle” right here on Facebook and YouTube.
