Dubbed “Illinois’ first and premier boutique campground and event venue” guests can expect a five-star luxury experience in a natural paradise just an hour outside Chicago near Starved Rock State Park. The upscale tents and high-end amenities are situated in a picturesque 96-acre setting where it’s easy to disconnect with hiking trails, yoga, picnics, and other on-site activities along the lush Vermillion River.
The now complete natural paradise is roughly 100 miles southwest of Chicago in Tonica, Illinois, and features 11 lavish safari-style tents designed by Bushtec Safari. Each tent draws inspiration from different Illinois wildflowers and all come equipped with personal bonfires, en-suite bathrooms, hardwood floors, and plush king-size beds complete with luxury linens.
The campground is also home to The Barn, a refined rustic lodge that offers state-of-the-art brunches, wine tasting, and now world-class cuisine from the mind of Cleetus Friedman.
Formerly of City Provisions, Fountainhead, and Theater on the Lake, Chef Cleetus is a trailblazer in the culinary scene known for hand-selecting ingredients directly from farmers at the peak of the growing season. He creates unique, hyper-seasonal upscale dishes for public and private events and also boasts an award-winning Bloody Mary mix.
