July 4th is fast approaching which means it is time to start looking into how to celebrate Independence Day this year! After the last year we’ve been through and the recent easing of restrictions the patriotic celebrations will this time around no doubt be some of the most jubilant in decades.
From the typical fireworks shows to barbeques, fairs, and the red, white, and blue explosion there is loads happening to fill your weekends. While Sunday, July 4th can be reserved for your cherished yearly traditions we’ve got a July 3rd warm up event that fuses all your needs to kick off the perfect summer weekend of Independence Day fun!
Rivets Stadium in Loves Park will this July 3rd host the inaugural Long Play Music Fest. Having originally been planned to take place from Friday, May 1 through Sunday, May 3, 2020, the three-day festival has now been condensed, repurposed, and dedicated to a one-day blow out dedicated to America’s birthday.

18 months in the works, the stadium will combine live music, food, and fireworks for a day of summer euphoria. Some of the best local restaurants will be on grilling on-site providing a mouth-watering array of dishes and different cuisine. More than 20 live bands will play across 2 stages providing entertainment all day before the essential firework celebrations light up the sky above to end the evening! Oh, and did we mention that there is also a carnival?
The main stage lineup will feature Dingo, Catfight, Too Hype Crew, and Jeff Tweedy.
