Long lines were observed at Chicago O’Hare International Airport and Midway International Airport on Sunday afternoon, and it appears that the situation may worsen from here.
According to ABC 7 Chicago, TSA agents have either quit or called out sick as they continue to work without pay during a weeks-long partial government shutdown affecting the Department of Homeland Security.

AFGE Local 777, which represents TSA agents, issued a statement saying, “From a union and TSA officers’ standpoint, just pay TSA. Stop playing games with our workforce and the safety of the traveling public. Respect the officers who show up every day and keep this system running.”
