Tonight, Thursday, August 31, Chicago’s beloved Lincoln Park Zoo will launch its final after-hours event of the summer, offering guests the chance to stroll the zoo with no kids and no crowds just their chosen beverage in hand, and plenty of space to sit and sip with friends and family on the final day of August.
Taking place throughout Lincoln Park Zoo’s buildings and grounds, “Adults Night Out: Summer Spectacular” welcomes guests aged 21 and over to enjoy an exclusive evening of music below this week’s blue supermoon and see out August in style.
“Celebrate the final days of summer with an evening of warm-weather fun” reads the zoo’s official release. “Guests will enjoy unique animal chats, a live DJ, and pop-up bars throughout the zoo at this 21+ event. Grab a beverage and explore your beautiful surroundings! Proceeds help Lincoln Park Zoo stay free and open 365 days a year.”
In addition to animal chats after dark there will be face painting and free rides on the AT&T Endangered Species Carousel but for those serious about making an evening of it, DJ Marcus Carter will be performing live on the zoo’s Main Mall so guests can either sit back and bask in the merrymaking or throw some shapes at the exclusive adults-only night.
For any attendees feeling competitive lawn games like foosball, Cornhole, giant Jenga, and giant Connect Four will be available for late-night adventurers to enjoy.
Please bear in mind that Lincoln Park Zoo has a zoo policy that promotes positive animal welfare so the animals will have a choice whether they are indoors or out. The chances of seeing them at night will vary from animal to animal.
“We hope many animals will choose to be outside, but they may choose to spend their evening indoors.” reads the Lincoln Park Zoo website.
The Summer Spectacular event will take place from 6:30 pm until 10 pm on Thursday, August 31. Tickets cost $15–35
