La Licor is turning up the heat this holiday season—the Logan Square Latin fusion hotspot is bringing the flavors of Panamerica to Chicago in the form of festive cocktails and seasonal tamales.
Holidays at La Licor
This Christmas season La Licor is launching a limited time tamales selection, with offerings from four Panamerican nations. Here’s a look at what’s on the menu:
- Mexico – Chicken Green Tamales: Classic tamales wrapped in corn husks, filled with chicken and tomatillo green sauce enveloped in corn masa with a touch of traditional lard.
- Guatemala – Potato Paches with Chicken: Mashed potatoes wrapped in banana leaves for a soft, smoky flavor. Features tomato sauce and Guatemalan spices.
- Peru – Criollo Pork Tamal: Yellow corn masa seasoned with ají amarillo, filled with pork marinated in ají panca. Includes olive and hard-boiled egg, all wrapped in banana leaves.
- Colombia – Tolimense Tamal: Corn masa mixed with rice, pork, chicken, carrot, chickpeas, and egg. Cooked in banana leaves and served as a main dish.
Can’t pick just one? No problem! Also one the menu is the tamal sampler, featuring one of each!
