Obama Presidential Center opening weekend

The Obama Presidential Center will finally open to the public this Juneteenth weekend following years of development.
The sprawling campus includes a museum, Chicago Public Library location, community center, and acres of public greenspace.
Guests are invited to a public open house event from June 19—21, including live performances, educational workshops, campus tours, and more.

2026 Juneteenth Celebration at the DuSable Black History Museum

Join the DuSable Black History Museum and Education Center for a fun-filled day of cultural activities and community engagement this holiday.
The museum’s annual Juneteenth celebration will feature live music, a morning yoga session, educational and cultural programming, local vendors, and other activations.
The best part? The celebration is free and open to the public!
Juneteenth Family Festival of Beverly and Morgan Park

The Juneteenth Family Festival of Beverly/Morgan Park is the South Side’s ultimate free Juneteenth celebration.
More than 5,000 attendees are expected for this all-day event.
There will be live music and DJs, African dancing, sports and games, local vendors, fitness activations, food and treats, and much more.

12th annual Chicago Juneteenth Parade

Chicago’s 12th annual Juneteenth Parade returns to the West Side this weekend.
Expect dozens of parade floats, music, and live performances.
Following the parade, attendees can head to Garfield Park for a community picnic featuring free food and family-friendly activities.
Free jazz show at Lazy Bird

Join Lazy Bird for cocktails and free live jazz performances on Friday, June 19.
The music is flowing all night long, and a portion of the cover will go towards supporting nonprofit ChiGivesBack.
