While in town for the 2023 show, the rap icon stopped by Bronzeville Soul, a Black-owned South Side favorite known for its traditional Southern comfort food—think fried catfish, mac and cheese, cornbread, and more.
Owner Mario Coleman told ABC that Jay-Z placed a hefty to-go order, opting for short ribs and pound cake. The rapper even mentioned the restaurant had come highly recommended.
