2025 is drawing to a close, and the Illinois Secretary of State (ISS) is marking the occasion by releasing its annual list of rejected personalized license plate requests from the past year.
Secretary of State reveals 2025 “naughty list”
Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias announced the 2025 list in a Youtube video shared Monday.
“Well, it’s that time of year again,” said Giannoulias. “We’re revealing some of the license plate requests that were rejected and ended up on this year’s naughty list.”
Illinois allows residents to submit request for customized license plates, however as noted by Giannoulias, requests must comply with “certain standards of good taste and decency.”

This year’s rejected plates definitely missed the mark as far as these requirements are concerned. Here’s the full list of rejected personalized Illinois plates for 2025 according to the ISS:
