When the global pandemic forced restrictions on indoor dining, restaurants, bars, and hotels across Chicago scrambled to winterize their outdoor spaces resulting in an array of astoundingly revamped patios, beer gardens, and rooftops across the city.
Rooftops in particular began offering magic winter dining options high in the sky and one of the best of the bunch was the elevated hideout that emerged at the award-winning Godfrey Hotel in River North.
Refusing to bow to Chicago’s icy weather, the luxury lifestyle hotel underwent a dazzling transformation installing a collection of signature heated igloos and providing guests with a whimsical Winter Wonderland up among Chicago’s skyline.
Now one of Chicago’s most popular winter drinking destinations, the iconic experience has returned to once again offer guests a sensational snug skyline escape.
Thanks to the heated, clear-domed igloos covering the rooftop’s portico, and several firepits stationed beneath gazebos guests can cozy up with a cocktail, s’mores, and sweeping skyline views this winter.
Boasting Chicago’s largest indoor-outdoor rooftop with a retractable roof, Godfrey Hotel is again hosting various exciting experiences including frequent fire dancing, live DJs, and unique seasonal snacks all beneath the city lights.
The Windy City might be about to plummet to teeth-chattering temperatures but at the city’s only year-round rooftop lounge guests shelter from the winter elements in style.
Smaller igloos seating 6-8 people must prepay for at least one bottle to secure their reservation whilst reservations for the larger igloo for up to 10 guests must prepay a deposit of $750 which will then be taken off the final bill.
Due to high demand small igloos are available for a maximum of 1.5 hours and the Big Igloo can be reserved for up to 2.5 hours.
The Godfrey Hotel rooftop is open until 11 p.m. Monday to Wednesday, until 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and until 9 p.m. on Sundays.
Igloos can be reserved via exploretock.com/iogodfrey/, by calling 312 374 1830, or by emailing info@iogodfrey.com.
