Located just six miles outside of Galena, the hot air balloon festival commences at Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa—the three-day celebration features dozens of balloons in the skies above the historic district.
Visitors can watch morning races as balloons ascend over the Mississippi River Valley. In the evening, they can attend the Night Glow Extravaganza, where tethered balloons illuminate the night sky.
The festival will take place from June 19th to June 21st. Here is the official schedule:

June 19th:
- 5:00 PM – Gates Open
- 5:30 PM – Live Music Starts
- 6:00 PM – Hot Air Balloon Launch
- 8:30 PM – Night Glow Extravaganza
June 20th:
- 5:00 AM – Crack of Dawn Balloon Launch
- Balloons inflate and launch in about 30 minutes
- 5:00 – 9:00 PM – Inflatables for the kids!
- 5:30 PM – Live Music Starts
- 6:00 PM – Classic Car Show: Featuring car clubs from around the region.
- 6:00 PM – Hot Air Balloon Launch

June 21st:
- 5:00 AM – Crack of Dawn Balloon Launch
