The Big Mini Putt Club, a mini-golf course and bar in Wicker Park, needs a 9th hole and they want YOU to help create it.
Have you ever made your way around a mini-golf course marveling at the twists, turns, windmills, and countless clever contraptions, and thought what fun they must have had coming up with all of this. Well… you’re in luck. The folks down at Big Mini Putt Club, Chicago’s first dedicated indoor mini-golf bar, are inviting anyone and everyone to a 9th hole design contest.
The contest, launching today Thursday, January 21, will run for two weeks through Thursday, February 4, and the winner will be announced four days later on Monday, February 8.
The competition will be based on ideas rather than presentations so no drawing skills, no problem. The hole with the most creativity, ingenuity, and practicality will be rewarded with a free-mini-golf-for-life pass for two, a free Big Mini T-shirt, a private round of mini-golf before the official opening day, oh and of course the bragging rights! So as well as seeing your own creation come to life you better prepare to become a mini-putt master.
First place won’t be the only winners, however, runners up in 2nd and 3rd place will receive a $50 gift card to use when the bar opens and the craziest idea of all entries will be awarded a free round of golf for two as well as a free Big Mini T-shirt.
Below are the contest’s requirements:
- The space for the hole is approximately 6 feet wide and 16 feet long.
- Picture of your design can be simple sketches.
- 2-3 sentences on how you, as the expert, would play it.
- Make sure it’s playable for righties and lefties.
- Props as obstacles can be fun, but sometimes, less is more.
- There should be a real – but challenging – way to get a hole-in-one.
Big Mini Putt Club can be found at 1302 N Milwaukee Avenue in Wicker Park.
