If you’re tired of city life and considering a significant change, a Wisconsin town at the southern tip of Lake Winnebago is offering new residents up to $9,500 to make the move.
Fond du Lac, which has a population of about 44,000, has launched a “new talent attraction program” to attract new residents, whether they work remotely or locally, by offering relocation funds and local experiences.

According to NBC Chicago, this initiative is part of MakeMyMove, a program that connects U.S. residents with new locations through incentives, signing bonuses, and networking opportunities. Fond du Lac is the first community in Wisconsin to participate in this program, joining others in Bloomington, Indiana; Salina, Kansas; and Texarkana, Texas.
So, what does the Fond du Lac program offer? It includes a cash relocation stipend of $5,500 and various perks such as YMCA memberships, local baseball experiences, golf packages, access to the arts, dining options, family activities, and more—a pretty well-rounded package, if you ask us.
The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation sponsors the program in partnership with Envision Greater Fond du Lac. If you’re interested, you can apply to the program at Make My Move.
