See the Field Museum in a whole new light! Looking for a unique experience to do with kids in Chicago this year? Look no further. It’s a fun option for locals, a cool spring break activity if the timing works, or a great weekend adventure if you’re visiting from out of town.
Let imaginations run wild as you and the little ones settle in for the night among the exhibits, artifacts, and eclectic inhabitants of one of the largest natural history museums on the planet.
The Field Museum’s event series Dozin’ with the Dinos invites families and groups with kids ages 6 to 12 to spend a night at the museum staying up late with scientists, enjoying immersive activities, and exploring exhibitions in the dark.

Taking place on several dates this year, the evenings begin with snacks and a science showcase in the Stanley Field Hall followed by late-night activities like dissecting owl pellets and learning the steps of Egyptian mummification before guests are then invited to explore the numerous exhibitions with a flashlight.
There will also be film screenings and storytime sessions in the James Simpson Theatre for those looking for alternative options.
Dates for the next Dozin’ with the Dinos sleepovers are on Friday, March 7, and Friday, March 21 followed by two nights in April, a night in September, and, for now, a single night in November.
