Perkins grew up on the south side of Chicago and is an alumni of Second City, the popular Chicago comedy program and venue. He has been named Breakout LGBQT Comedian to Watch by TimeOut New York, and currently writes for both “Brooklyn Nine Nine” and the comedy collective 3Peat.
The writer and comedian’s work provides witty commentary on serious issues like racism, homophobia, and gun violence. Perkins’ newest show, How Being Black & Gay Made Me Better Than You, will be filmed sometime in January, but Chicagoans have the exclusive opportunity to see a preview at North Bar on Dec 28.
