The best new bagels in Chicago are crafted using an 8-year-old sourdough starter—and trust us when we say you need to take a bite.
On Saturday, October 18, starting at 9:00 AM, Summer House – Lincoln Park will host the inaugural pop-up of Decker’s Sourdough Bagels.
These hand-rolled artisan sourdough bagels, along with house-made whipped cream cheese spreads, will be available for carryout only, as well as two exclusive brunch sandwiches for one day only.
Decker’s Sourdough Bagels is coming to Summer House
Originating in the kitchens of Lettuce Entertain You’s Wildfire, the menu features four varieties of bagels made from Wildfire Executive Chef Partner Joe Decker’s own aged sourdough starter (aka “Bertha”). Each bagel is boiled and baked to perfection, resulting in a signature crusty and crispy outside and soft, airy, tangy crumb inside.
All the pre-orders are sold out on Decker’s Sourdough Bagels, but walk-in orders are still available at the Beach House Bar at Summer House.

Choose from single, half-dozen, or a dozen bagels of Plain, Everything, Sesame, or Poppy Seed bagels, along with a selection of house-made schmears, including Plain, Scallion, Cinnamon Raisin, Jalapeño Cheddar, and Smoked Salmon & Herb.
All bagels are available for purchase individually for $3 each, by the half-dozen for $15 each, or by the dozen for $32 each.
Summer House will also offer two exclusive sandwiches featuring Decker’s Sourdough Bagels on its dine-in-only brunch menu. The options include an Open-Faced Smoked Salmon Sandwich with tomatoes, red onions, capers, dill, and scallion cream cheese on a toasted sesame seed bagel, and an Applewood Smoked Bacon & Egg Sandwich with scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, hot honey, and scallion cream cheese on a toasted plain bagel.
