Pope-mania has officially taken Chicago by storm—and local businesses are cashing in with everything from pope-inspired Italian beef sandwiches to “Pope-a-roni” pizza.
Now there’s another pope-themed indulgence for Chicagoans to enjoy: a pope-approved brew.
Burning Bush Brewery in North Center (4014 N Rockwell St.) just launched a new beer dubbed “Da Pope,” in honor of Chi-Town’s own newly elected pontiff.
The fresh draft is an American Mild Ale with low ABV and a distinctly malty profile. According to Burning Bush, the dark-hued but light-bodied beer blends notes of caramel, toasted nuts, and a touch of delicate fruit.
Looking for the full Chicago experience? Try the “Chicago Pope Handshake”—a pint of Da Pope paired with a shot of Malört.
Burning Bush will be pouring Da Pope and serving the Chicago Pope Handshake all Memorial Day Weekend long. Swing by for a drink, some snacks, and sunny vibes on their outdoor patio.
