A Vegan, Dairy-Free Bakery Devoted To Ostentatious Cinnamon Rolls Has Opened In Wicker Park

A vegan bakery for those with an insatiable sweet tooth.

Last Friday, Wicker Park’s newest bakery celebrated its grand opening at 1295 N Milwaukee Avenue. The bakery, Cinnaholic, specializes in vegan and dairy-free gourmet cinnamon rolls that come covered in an abundance of delicious toppings. It will sell customizable individual cinnamon rolls and Baker’s Boxes of 6-12 cinnamon rolls as well as a few other ostentatious options.

The Caramel Apple Pie Roll, for example, comes with caramel frosting topped with fresh apples, pecans, homemade pie crumble, and caramel sauce. Whilst a Tropical Bliss Roll comes covered in raspberry frosting topped with fresh bananas, blueberries, and coconut.

Like other Cinnaholic locations, guests can create their own favorite combination of flavors from the plethora of toppings and frostings available.

Selecting from the Cinnaholic signature rolls menu has the added bonus of coming with information on exactly how many calories come with each dairy-free roll (if you wanted to know). Equally, you can just ignore the info and feast away guilt-free.

A Plain Roll, “for the purists who want to skip the frosting and toppings and simply enjoy the cinnamon roll goodness” weighs in at only 470 calories. For the most calorific option, the customer favorite Cookie Monster takes first place at 1107 calories but reading the description it sounds like it’s worth the extra calories.

Cinnamon Rolls are Cinnaholic’s specialty but by no means the only option. Chocolate Chip Banana Bread and Homemade Fudge Style Brownies both look delectable but there is also another separate menu for scoops of edible cookie dough.
Similar indulgent ingredients are on offer ranging from Mocha Madness to Strawberries & Cream and again, the Cookie Dough Scoops can be customized according to how full-throttle guests want to go.

The husband-and-wife entrepreneurs behind Cinnaholic, Shannon and Florian Radke, appeared on Shark Tank back in 2014. They claimed to offer “the world’s best cinnamon roll experience” from their California-based bakery and were looking for the funds to give the rest of the states a piece of the action.

They eventually found investment and fast forward to today and 50 Cinnaholic stores can be found across the United States and Canada. Now it is Chicago’s turn and your chance to see if Cinnaholic really does offer “the world’s best cinnamon roll experience.”

Cinnaholic Wicker Park will be open 7 days a week. From 10 am to 9 pm Monday through Thursday and from 11 am to 9 pm Friday through Sunday.
