Following an extended cold snap, warmer temperatures are in store for Chicago this weekend—But don’t get too comfortable, the conditions won’t last long.
Tuesday’s high will top out at just 18 degrees, according to the National Weather Service, with an overnight low of just four degrees.
The sub-freezing conditions will last until Thursday, when temps will climb to a toasty 35 degrees.
It only gets warmer from there, with a high of 41 predicted for Friday. Break out the t-shirts everybody!
By Sunday, however, we’ll be right back where we started, with temperatures plunging into the teens once again. Sunday night will observe a low of exactly 0 degrees.
For MLK day, Chicagoans will want to bundle up or avoid venturing outside all together, as the high will reach just 10 degrees.
With winter in full swing, Chicago has officially entered the La Niña weather pattern, which means colder and snowier temperatures are likely in the weeks ahead.
