Freezing temperatures and snow are making a comeback in Chicago this week.
Here’s a look at the forecast and how much of the white stuff we’ll get.
Multiple chances for snow later this week

An extended system of wintry weather is set to impact the Windy City later this week, bringing several back-to-back chances for snowfall.
The week will get off to a sunny and mild start with highs in the mid to upper 40s Monday and Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
By Wednesday, however, it will be feeling a lot more like mid-January in the Windy City. Temperatures will hover around the freezing mark much of the day with a high of 36 degrees and snow showers mainly before noon.

Wednesday night will see a 40% chance of additional snow showers, with the chance for precipitation continuing into Thursday. Friday will bring additional scattered snowstorms and a high of 33 degrees.
Temperatures will take a steep dive Saturday for a high of only 24 degrees and snowfall possible throughout the day. The thermometer will drop to 10 degrees overnight.
Sunday will see a frigid high of only 19 degrees.

To make a long story short, it’s going to feel like winter in Chicago this week. Be sure to check out follow these cold weather safety tips as outlined by the Chicago Department of Public Health:
- Avoid any unnecessary trips outdoors.
- When venturing outdoors, wear multiple layers of dry, loose, warm clothing.
- Be especially careful to cover your head, ears, hands, and feet.
- Get plenty of sleep, stay hydrated, eat nourishing meals, and consume warm beverages and soups.
- Make sure your heat is in working order; space heaters not recommended as an alternate heat source.
- Stock up on groceries and other essentials ahead of time.
