It’s been a brutal couple of weeks in Chicago, with temperatures hardly breaking the freezing mark for 16 consecutive days. Here’s the good news—the extended cold spell seems to be finally drawing to a close!
Temperatures will climb into the 40s this weekend for the first time in almost a month.
Here’s what to expect in the coming days.
Temps in the 40s this weekend

It’s going to finally start feeling a little like spring in Chicago beginning this weekend. Highs will hover in the upper 30s Wednesday and Thursday, before skyrocketing almost ten degrees for a high of 43 on Friday.
Saturday’s high will reach a toasty 45 degrees with cloudy conditions, according to Time and Date. Sunday’s high will top out at 46 degrees with partly cloudy skies.
50 degree highs next week, followed by another drop

Next week is when things really take a turn for the warmer.
Daily highs will remain in the mid to low 50s for much of next week. Tuesday and Wednesday will see mostly cloudy skies with rain arriving Thursday and Friday.
Saturday, February 21 is when we’ll get our next chance for wintry weather, with a high of 41 and a rainy and icy mix possible.

Heavy rains will follow on Sunday, February 22, with daily highs subsequently falling back down into the 30s by the last week of the month.
To sum it all up, Chicago will enjoy about a week or so of unseasonably warm temps, before dropping back down to more or less where we started.
So be sure to get outside and enjoy the balmy conditions while they last!
