Time to break out the sunblock—spring is arriving a week early in Chicago!
The National Weather Service predicts a high of 65 degrees on Monday, with Friday reaching 68. Some inland areas could even see temperatures climb into the low 70s, according to WGN.
Temperatures will settle in the upper 40s for the rest of the week, with mostly sunny skies. Showers and possibly a thunderstorm could move in by Friday evening.
How does this week’s warmth compare to past record highs? The record for March 10 stands at 70 degrees, set back in 1955, according to the NWS. March 14’s record is even more extreme—81 degrees, set in 2012.
So while Chicago won’t be breaking records this week, we’ll come pretty close!
