Following Chicago’s Independence Day wash-out, Windy City residents are enjoying some much-needed dry weather.
Unfortunately, the sunny skies will be short-lived—additional thunderstorms are possible in the lead up to the weekend in Chicago.
Here’s a breakdown of the forecast.
Thunderstorms Thursday and Friday, dry weekend ahead
Chicago will see back-to-back chances for storms later this week, according to predictions to the National Weather Service.
We’ll get a short reprieve Wednesday, with a high of 87 degrees and clear conditions.
Come Thursday, showers are likely after 1 p.m. with winds up to 10 miles per hour and a 60% chance of precipitation overall.
Rainy conditions will continue through the overnight hours and into Friday morning. Additional showers are possible throughout the day Friday.
By Saturday, things will be looking a lot clearer. Expect a high near 80 degrees and sunny skies. Sunday will see a high of 84 degrees and more sunshine.
All in all, the rest of the work week is looking a bit soggy, but clearer skies are ahead. So hang in there Chicago, and be sure to keep your umbrella handy!
