The summer solstice might still be a few weeks out, but it’s going to be feeling very seasonal in Chicago this week.
Data from the National Weather Service (NWS) predicts temperatures will soar into the 90s mid-week, with multiple chances for thunderstorms along the way.

A hot and stormy week ahead
Chicago is in for a week of high temperatures and volatile weather, according to the NWS.
Monday’s high will reach 77 degrees with thunderstorms possible from late afternoon into the evening. The overall chance of precipitation is 80%, with wind gusts up to 15 mph possible.
Tuesday will see a chance of early morning showers, followed by partly sunny conditions and a high of 85 degrees.
Wednesday is when the heatwave really kicks in—temperatures will soar to a high of 91 degrees with plenty of sunshine.
Thursday will see a high of 87 degrees with afternoon thunderstorms and showers possible.
Friday and Saturday will bring highs in the mid 80s with mostly sunny skies. Come Sunday, expect mostly cloudy skies and additional chances of showers, plus a high of 78.
In short, it will be feeling solidly like summer in Chicago this week, so dress light and expect a summer shower or two!
