Chicago’s second major snowstorm of the season is set to hit this weekend, hot off the heels of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Predictions from the National Weather Service show a near 100% chance of precipitation throughout the weekend.
Here’s a breakdown of the storm timeline and how much snowfall we could get!
Storm timeline

Come Friday evening, a wintry storm system will gradually move in, with an 80% chance of snowfall after midnight.
Heading into Saturday, chances for snow will top out at 100%, with a daily high of only 33 degrees. The snowy conditions will likely last throughout the day, possibly changing to a rainy mix overnight.
The chance for snow will linger Sunday morning, with conditions staying cloudy and cold. Additional snow is possible next Monday as well, as temperatures remain around the freezing mark.

The NWS has issued a Winter Storm Warning in effect beginning 3 a.m. Saturday through 6 a.m. Sunday.
As for how much snow we’ll get, predictions vary, but it’s likely we could see a couple of inches at least.
The latest predictions from the NWS. suggest we could see up to 7 inches of snow over the course of the day Saturday.
