A snow system will move through Chicago Thursday evening into Friday morning, dropping a few inches of the white stuff over the Windy City.
According to the National Weather Service, a snowy rainy mix is possible late Thursday afternoon, and will likely continue into the night.
There is an additional chance for snow Friday morning between 5am and noon, according to the NWS, with an overall 80% chance of precipitation.
Snow showers could continue off and on into Friday evening. Some accumulation is possible in Chicago, but will likely amount to an inch or less according to the NWS.
While accumulation will remain low for much of the Chicago region, the snow will still impact rush hour Thursday evening and Friday morning, making for some potentially dangerous road conditions.
Drivers should prepare for slippery, icy roadways and possible traffic delays.
As for next week’s holiday forecast, Chicago is unlikely to get a white Christmas this year. The NWS predicts temps will reach a high of 41 degrees on Christmas.
