Chicago skyrocketed to the global stage earlier this year with the inauguration of the first-ever American — and Windy City–born — pope, Pope Leo XIV.
Now, Chicagoans and visitors alike can discover Pope Leo’s South Side roots through a special guided bus tour.
See where the pope’s journey began

Chicago Pope Tours will take riders on a unique excursion through the neighborhoods and landmarks that shaped Pope Leo — born Robert Prevost — on his path to the papacy.
Over the four-hour guided tour, guests will explore the pope’s birthplace in Dolton, IL, his childhood church, and the seminary where he studied for the priesthood.
Grab a free slice of pope-a-roni pizza along the way

The tour also makes a stop at Aurelio’s, the pope’s rumored favorite Chicago pizza spot and home of the “pope-a-roni” pie. Tickets include a complimentary slice.
This one-of-a-kind bus tour is perfect for history buffs, Catholics, die-hard Chicagoans, and anyone who loves a good story.
