Chicagoans will want to keep a sweater handy this Memorial Day Weekend—sunny skies are set to return following a rainy week, but the unseasonably cool temperatures aren’t going anywhere anytime soon.
Highs in the low 60s all weekend
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), highs will remain consistently in the low 60s throughout the weekend.
Friday’s high will climb to only 60 degrees, while Saturday will hit a high of only 61. Sunday’s high will also hover around 60 degrees.
Temperatures will climb ever so slightly on Monday, for a Memorial Day high of 63.
Lower than average highs
Highs this Memorial Day Weekend in Chicago will be nearly 10 degrees below normal, with typical late May highs usually ranging in the low 70s, according to the NWS.
All that’s to say, be sure to dress warm if you’re heading to a lakefront barbecue or an outdoor patio party this holiday!
