The 2026 festival was canceled by the Chicago Loop Alliance, which announced in February that this decision was made as they work to establish the new Loop Arts District.
Chicago is launching Loop Arts Fest, a massive single-day street takeover
Loop Arts Fest, scheduled for Saturday, October 17, will take over State Street from Jackson to Madison, replacing the multi-date summer/fall series with a single-day celebration of the area’s rich arts and cultural assets, according to the Loop Alliance.
The organization added that Loop Arts Fest will combine on-street activations with enhancements of existing offsite programming to showcase the breadth of the Loop’s cultural community.
A complete lineup of events and participants is expected to be announced in September.
