Jazz Fest returns to Millennium Park this summer, bringing three full days of musical heritage to the heart of Chicago from August 28–31.
A beloved Labor Day weekend tradition, the festival celebrates the full spectrum of jazz with a packed lineup of performances and programming—all free for Chicagoans.
Produced by the City of Chicago and the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE), Jazz Fest unites top local and international artists in a powerful tribute to the city’s rich musical legacy.
“Chicago’s jazz legacy runs deep—from Bronzeville basements to global stages,” said Mayor Brandon Johnson in a statement. “This festival represents our city’s enduring creativity, cultural excellence, and commitment to bringing people together through the universal language of music.”
The 2025 lineup will showcase dozens of genre-defining artists, from legacy acts to rising stars.
This year’s headliners include Grammy-winning bassist and vocalist esperanza spalding, piano legend Monty Alexander, iconic New Orleans trumpeter and vocalist Kermit Ruffins, Afro-Cuban guitar virtuoso Eliades Ochoa of Buena Vista Social Club, and saxophonist Gary Bartz with his legendary ensemble NTU Troop.
DCASE plans to release the full Jazz Fest 2025 lineup and programming schedule in the coming weeks.
