One of our favorite summer traditions is heading to Ravinia for a concert. There’s just something special about listening to live music on a warm evening. If you’re looking for a way to support the festival while enjoying a memorable night out, consider adding their gala to your calendar.
The Opening Night Gala in July, hosted by the Ravinia Women’s Board will unveil the newly renovated Hunter Pavilion with a cocktail reception, a performance by piano prodigy Yunchan Lim with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra conducted by Marin Alsop, and a celebratory dinner to kick off the season.

6. Barbara Bates Designs celebrates 40 years of design excellence
Barbara Bates Designs invites guests to a milestone gala on October 3, 2026 celebrating fashion, legacy, and impact. The evening begins with a cocktail reception in the Sky Room of the Main Tower at the Obama Presidential Center, followed by a runway presentation featuring 40 models and five emerging designers. Attendees can also explore a curated exhibition showcasing four decades of design excellence.
