A magnitude 2.9 earthquake occurred off the coast of Chicago on Wednesday, according to data released by the U.S. Geological Survey.
Data shows the epicenter of the quake formed approximately 13.8 miles east of downtown Evanston, Illinois. The quake reached a depth of 3.1 miles.
