Chicago has its pick for this year’s official Christmas tree—and it’s among the largest in our city’s history!
68-foot spruce selected for Millennium Park display
The 2025 Chicago Christmas tree is a 68-foot-tall Norway spruce, donated to the city by a suburban family based in Glenview, according to NBC.
The process of cutting down and transporting the tree to Millennium Park will begin Monday, ahead of the tree lighting on Friday, November 21.
Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) is in charge of decorating the tree over the next three weeks.
The tree will be on display through January 2026.
