A towering spruce tree in Logan Square has been chosen as the official 2024 Chicago Christmas tree.
According to the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE), the city’s 111th Christmas tree was donated by the Holden-Shaddick family of Logan Square.
The locally cultivated tree stands over 50 feet tall, and will be on display near the intersection of Michigan Ave. and Washington St. from November 22 through January 8, 2025.
Chicago’s annual tree lighting celebration is Friday, November 22, and will feature live musical performances, followed by the tree illumination and fireworks.
There’s tons of additional holiday happenings at Millennium Park in the coming weeks. On November 15, the McCormick Ice Skating rink will welcome visitors once again.
The Millennium Park Holiday Market will follow shortly after from November 22-24, and the park’s Holiday Sing-Along series will run from December 6-20.
